· Commercial Real Estate Markets Driving U.S.
Economy |

The
commercial real estate market is showing strong sustainability
and adding
strong value to the U.S. economy, according a
research study released yesterday.
The report, The
Contribution of Office, Industrial and Retail Development of
Construction of the U.S. Economy, showed that commercial real
estate spending in 2005-the latest data available-added $498.4
billion to U.S. Gross Domestic Product out of $11.9 trillion.
Comparatively, the federal government's contribution to the
GDP was $498.8 billion, a figure close to the contribution of
commercial real estate.
